March 18, 2021

 

The White City Council and Christine Sheffield on behalf of the school board held a Local Board of Equalization meeting on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 5:30 pm at the McKnight Community Center. Mayor Scott Gladis called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm. Roll call was taken, council members present were, Cutler, Kelm, Sunderland, Lagerstrom and Cassels. Other’s present were John and Janice Kregel to appeal their property assessment for the year 2020. All motions were unanimous unless otherwise noted.

Mayor Gladis began the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by roll call.

Motion by Lagerstrom, seconded by Sunderland to approve the agenda.

Motion by Lagerstrom, seconded by Cutler to approve adjustments and additions to the March 1, 2021 minutes.

Motion by Kelm, seconded by Sunderland to approve the following claims:

2020 Assessor’s Value: Land-$25,400     Buildings-$222,800    Total-$248,200

Motion by Lagerstrom, seconded by Kelm to approve a no change to the assessor’s value.

Mayor Gladis discussed with the council about wanting approval to pay Dawn Murphy, the City of Tea Finance Officer for her help of training the new finance officer.

Motion by Lagerstrom, seconded by Kelm to approve payment to Dawn Murphy of $1,200.

 

 

Motion by Sunderland, seconded by Lagerstrom to move into executive session (*Pursuant to SDCL 1-25-(1,2,3,4 and/or 5) at 5:57 pm. Council came out of executive session at 6:18 pm.

Motion by Kelm, seconded by Lagerstrom to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 6:29 pm.
