January 4, 2021 Regular Meeting Minutes January 4, 2021 at the McKnight Community Center. Mayor Gladis called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Roll call was taken, council members present were Sunderland, Lagerstrom, and Kelm. Wilts and Cutler were conference called in. Cassels arrived approximately 7:30 pm. Others present were Dave Ford and Gracie Nelson from RFD News Group, and Arlene Madsen. All motions were unanimous unless otherwise noted.
Mayor Gladis began the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance followed by roll call.
Motion by Kelm, seconded by Sunderland to approve the agenda.
Motion by Lagerstrom, seconded by Kelm to approve the December 7, 2020 minutes. Motion passed with Wilts and Cutler abstaining since they were not present to read them.
Motion by Kelm, second by Sunderland to approve Special Meeting December 29, 2020 minutes. Motion passed with Wilts and Cutler abstaining since they were not present to read them.
Bills were not available to be approved. Anticipate approving them at a mid-month special meeting.
Open positions. Motion by Kelm, Second by Lagerstrom to accept resignation of Audra Wilson on part-time status as of December 30, 2020. Motion by Sunderland, second by Kelm to accept resignation of Dan DeYoung effective December 30, 2020. Mayor Gladis and Sunderland are finalizing the job description for posting.
Public Comments. Arlene Madsen notified us that the White Community Club annual report has been submitted to the city. She will work with Sunderland to do an audit on their books.
Lefty’s Liquor license was tabled until the next meeting.
Motion by Sunderland, second by Kelm to surplus the Case Farmall 95 tractor, loader, bucket, grapple and Komatsu GD650 maintainer with wing, and replace both by purchasing a payloader with bucket, grapple and box blade through State bid.
Motion by Sunderland, second by Kelm to move into executive session (*pursuant to SDCL 1-25-(1,2,3,4 and/or 5)) at 7:24 pm. Council came out of executive session at 8:05 pm.
Motion by Kelm, second by Cassels to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 8:07 pm
