The White City Council held its regular meeting on Monday, March 2, 2020 at 7:00 pm at the McKnight

Community Center. Mayor Wright called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call was taken, council members present were Cutler, Kelm, Wilts and Gladis. Absent Hopfinger. Also present were Richard Haugen, Julie Westberg, Randall Hanson, Josie Koopmans, Aspen Thortenson, Kory Thortenson and Patty Thompson. All motions were unanimous unless otherwise noted. Motion by Kelm, seconded by Gladis to approve the minutes of the last meeting.

Hopfinger joined the meeting at 7:18 pm. Randall Hanson with Farmstead and Josie Koopmans gave an update on things happening at the Farmstead. Josie Koopmans plans to have the restaurant open this spring, in the beginning her hours will be roughly 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and then expanding her hours once she gets settled. Richard Haugen, with Brkgs Cty Emergency Management shared with the board stats on flooding last year, how the system flows and 1000 sandbags. The sandbags can be picked up and there will be sand available to fill them on Hwy 30 just east of the interstate at a future date if needed. The council instructed the finance officer to advertise for summer mowing help, with applications due by April 3, 2020. Motion by Gladis, seconded by Wilts to have Infotech of Madison, SD set up a backup system for the computers. Motion by Hopfinger, seconded by Kelm to move $250,000 from checking to money market. Motion by Gladis, seconded by Hopfinger to send out disconnect notices. At 7:55 pm, motion by Gladis, seconded by Kelm to adjourn.
