January 3, 2018 Regular Meeting Minutes
The White City Council held it’s regular meeting at 7:00 pm at the McKnight Community Hall on Wednesday January 03, 2018. City member present were Hopfinger, Wilts, Kelm, Westberg, Cutler and Mayor Wright. Also present were Finance Officer Raine, Maintenance Dept DeYoung, Arlene Madsen, Kenneth and Becky Goens, Janice Kregel, and Ralph Engelstad.
All motions were unanimous unless otherwise noted. Motion by Hopfinger seconded by Kelm to approve the minutes from the previous meeting. Motion by Wilts seconded by Kelm to approve the following bills as presented: DENR certification renewal, $18.00; RFD News Group, legal publishing, $33.14; Midwest Pest Control, rodent control $85.00; Quill, office supplies $40.33; Amazon, office supplies & gavel $48.97; Microsoft, one-year office 365 $105.44; Appeara, towels, rags, mops $57.26;
USA Batteries, floor scrubber supplies $379.98; Anderson Oil, Inc, fuel oil & fuel $1981.67; SD Dept of Health, coliform $30.00; 1st District Assoc of Local Gov’t, dues $529.03; ITC Inc, phone & internet $351.85; BDRW, water $1702.70; SDRS retirement $833.22; US Treasury, payroll taxes $3048.93; DVL Fire & Safety, inspections $1035.00.
Ralph Engelstad spoke on plans for the housing development on eastside of White.
Motion by Westberg seconded by Wilts to increase all utilities by 3% affective immediately. Motion by Hopfinger seconded by Kelm to have Dan DeYoung attend 2 upcoming conferences. Motion by Wilts seconded by Kelm to send disconnect notices to delinquent account. Motion by Hopfinger seconded by Kem to go into executive session at 8:38 pm, council came out of executive session at 9:00. Motion by Kelm seconded by Wilts to adjourn. Next regular meeting is February 5, 2018 at the McKnight Community Center.
