March 9, 2018 - Regular Meeting Minutes (rescheduled from 3/5/18)

City of White Minutes for March 9, 2018.

 

The White City Council held it meeting Friday, March 9, 2018 at 6:00 pm at the McKnight Community Hall.  City council members present were Hopfinger, Cutler, Westberg, Kelm and Mayor Wright.  Also present were Finance Officer Raine, Maintenance Dept DeYoung, Arlene Madsen, Cheri Selleck and Lori Colberg.

All motions were unanimous unless otherwise noted.  Motion by Hopfinger seconded by Kelm to approve the minutes of the meeting.

Svennes Bussing asked if the city would pay the same share of transportation to swimming lessons, council wanted an exact amount, advised Finance Officer to tell them, yes if the amount was close to last year’s amount. 

Sheriff’s report was reviewed. Dan DeYoung gave a Maintenance Dept report. Finance Officers report was given, discussion was held on city wide rummage sale date, spring cleanup date, liquor and beer licenses, ordering of furnace for the Fire Hall, steps to vacate an alley and that Prairie Ridge Addition will start plotting. 

The next meeting will be the equalization meeting, Monday, March 19, 2018 at 7:00 pm, the next regular meeting is set for Monday, April 2, 2018 at the McKnight Hall at 7:00 pm.  Motion made by Kelm seconded by Hopfinger to pay Paul Ekern $50.00 for the help on a research project. Motion made by Hopfinger seconded by Kelm to move into executive session at 8:20 pm.  Council came out of executive session at 8:41 pm. 

Motion by Hopfinger seconded by Kelm to approve a Health Reimbursement for each fulltime employee, all employees treated as singles up to $250.00 per month.  Motion by Kelm seconded by Hopfinger to increase the electric rates by 3% and add a surcharge of $5.00 per household or apartment.  Motion by Kelm seconded by Westberg to adjourn at 8:49 pm.
